New Orleans Home Tour Photo Diary 1
I see pattern…
…in historic homes in New Orleans on carpet, rugs, furniture, etc
My husband and I spent our Christmas break in New Orleans with his side of our family. We had a lovely holiday! While in the great city of New Orleans, I got to take a tour of old homes in the Quarter with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and Grandma-in-law. It was a nice girls day out and we saw some really beautiful Historical homes. While touring, of course I saw tons of pattern. Aaaaaand I got a brand new fancy shmancy camera from my amazing hubby! A Canon EOS Rebel T3i to be exact! So I was trying that bad boy out! I am splitting these pictures up into three posts bc there is so many. Enjoy group 1!

Hey thats me in the mirror reflection with my new camera! :) By the way, pretty awesome piece of furniture, right? I would totally put makeup on everyday if I had this to sit down at! Okay, no I wouldnt, buuuuut it is a great piece…

Hope you enjoyed this first set of patterns from the homes I visited. I wish I remembered the addresses of each home we saw. The tour is called, Creole Christmas Tour, and I believe it is put on each year by Friends of the Cabildo. Please correct me if I am wrong on this. Visit their website here for more info. More great interior patterns from these homes to come!
XOXO,
Whitney
Tie Me Up
i see pattern…
…on men’s neckties!
Another great find from my mom’s house. All of these patterned fabrics that are quilted together are actually men’s neckties. Someone at some point took these old ties and sowed them together to make a lovely wall hanging that I am totally stealing from my mom one day! :) She found this wall hanging at an antique shop, so there is no telling what year these patterns were designed. There are some amazingly interesting trends going on. My fave is the print with tigers on it. And the Geo’s are fabulous!
