Shoc-a-lots
I see pattern…
…on chocolate bars!
My husband and I went to the Sonoma/Napa area for our 1 year anniversary last weekend! The trip was awesome! We love wine country! More pics to come of the beautiful country side. But for now, I wanted to quickly share these chocolate bars that had the cutest patterns on the packaging. I saw these at The Sonoma Cheese Factory where we ate lunch the first day of our trip. Great place to eat lunch if you are ever in Sonoma! Unfortunately, I did not get to try any of the chocolate, but i am sure it is amazing. A good package design always makes whatever is inside better, right!? The company of the chocolate bars is called Seattle Chocolate. Check out their website here. This is a great place to find a unique Father’s Day gift. Anyway, just another place that pattern can land! :) Enjoy!

DVF 101
I see pattern…
…on DVF.
I have been doing tons of designer soul searching lately. I signed up for a pattern course online called the Sellable Sketch taught by the lovely Michelle over at PATTERN OBSERVER. We are three weeks into the class. I am already learning so much. Thanks to Michelle, I am understanding more and more about myself as a designer and collecting some tips and tricks about the Textile biz along the way. Through this journey, I have really been diggin graphic floral prints. And who does this print style better than Diane Von Furstenberg? I just love everything about her entire company. DVF represents strong women who are successful and confident yet dainty and feminine. Here are some of the delightful DVF floral patterns I saw in Nordstroms at Northpark Mall in Dallas! Who knows, maybe one day I will get the opportunity to sell a pattern to Diane and her team. hehe! :) :) :) :)

Crate & Pillow
I see pattern…
…on pillows at Crate & Barrel!
Lets just start out by saying, I loooove Crate & Barrel! Who doesn’t right? My husband and I registered here when were engaged to be married! I always had twinkles in my eyes and a smile on my face when I would see that black & white Crate & Barrel box arrive. It was so fun. Anywho… The oversized patterns and bright colors that Crate & Barrel uses on their Home products catches my eye every time. The bold prints make it so fun to browse and just hang out in the store. On Friday nights in Dallas, people actually have date night in Crate & Barrel. Its just a hip place to waste some time before dinner and what not. Hanging out in Crate & Barrel is one of my favorite things to do. Aaaaand it is my go to place to get Marimekko patterned items. I purchased a lovely duvet cover for my bed along with matching pillow cases that is covered in a beautiful Marimekko print. As soon as i can get it on the bed I will post some up close shots of the hand drawn pattern. Until then, you can click here to see which one I got! <3 YAY! The images below are shots of some of the pillows that Crate & Barrel currently has in the store. They are all just lovely! Enjoy!

Sail Away
I see pattern…
…on the inside of some GAP men’s shorts!
I worked tonight at my lovely GAP job. I was putting out some new men’s summer shorts and noticed the inside had a lovely sailboat pattern paired with a stylized dot pattern! First off I love the colors. The Mint being my favorite! And then you add sailboats!?!? What a spectacular choice. These patterns me wanna sail away! Enjoy!

Old Files
I see pattern…
…while cleaning out my files on my laptop.
This pattern was designed by yours truly. I obviously remember the pattern, and in fact it is still in my portfolio, but what I dont remember doing is the design with the pattern on the vector models below. For some reason I only have the jpgs to… Anyway, I thought this was interesting and wanted to share! Have a good rest of your weekend!

If you Build It They Will Come
I see pattern…
…on the Astro’s baseball field.
Isn’t this the most beautiful caption of a baseball field? I received a text from my husband with this photo he took of the Astros Stadium in Houston, TX attached. He is at a conference for his work and was just showing me his view from the conference. I thought this photo was a great pattern image!! Pattern is in this photo a couple times if you look closely. :) Plus, to me a baseball field that looks like this is simply art. I love it! And remember, “if you build it they will come” is not just a baseball term from one of the best baseball movies of all times… You can apply this saying to your life and your work. Build things, make things, clients will come, right? :) That is how I am taking it. hehe Enjoy!

Easter Eggs at Their Finest
I see Pattern…
…on Easter Eggs!
My friends and I had an egg dying party last night. We had the BEST time experimenting with dyes and sponges and glitter. We even busted out colored sharpies! I am so proud of our eggs. I am so attached to them that my cousin who is in the 4th grade kept begging me to take a couple of the colorfully patterned eggs to throw into the creek in the backyard (boys will be boys)… I had to tell him NO because I just couldnt part with them. I am so terrible. :) But my mom’s backyard really doesnt need to smell like eggs anyway. haha. Well, Happy Easter Sunday, everyone. Let me know what you think of the eggs! And enjoy the rest of your holiday.

Easter Egg Nails
I see pattern…
…on my nails that were inspired by Easter Eggs!
HI There,
Okay so this should be a DIY post but its not due to the fact that I did not Do It myself. I do want to start experimenting with nail art, tho. After watching the guy at the Nail Bar in Uptown Dallas use my nails as a canvas, I think I have more confidence in doing my nails myself. We’ll see… :) With all the ideas I have in my head of what I can do on my nails, its just way too expensive to have them done all the time. So, add nail art to my list of things to do. haha. Anyway, here is my interpretation of Easter Egg Nails. Thank you to Marty at the Nail Bar! We had a great time turning my fingertips into Easter Eggs! :)

By the way, Happy Good Friday and Happy Easter!
XOXO,
Whitney
